Broadford Rovers FC announce Ciaran Tallon as Chairman
Earlier in the summer Darren Clifford signaled his intention to step down as Chairman of BRFC at the end of August. As Chairman for the past 6 years, Darren has lead the club from strength to strength and overseen a period of significant growth and development within the club from 12 teams up to 37 teams today. Under Darren’s guidance BRFC was one of the first teams in Leinster to be awarded Club Mark from the FAI in recognition of how the club operates, it’s child protection policies and how it develops children and coaches and its interaction in the community. Darren will be remaining on the club committee as the senior team representative.
The BRFC committee are delighted to announce appointment of our new chairman Ciaran Tallon. Ciaran is a Broadford Rovers clubman through and through, currently coaching one of the clubs u14 teams, Ciaran is valued member of the club’s committee having carried out various club roles. He was also a member of the first BRFC team in 1978. We believe his appointment is testament to the clubs philosophy of being a community club, that strives to create a positive and fun environment for kids to develop into adulthood, stay in sport and pass that positive experience on to the next generation.
The BRFC committee would like to put on record their sincere thanks and appreciation for everything Darren has done for the club and his countless hours of volunteering.
Ciaran Tallon “I am honored to take on the role of Chairman of Broadford Rovers FC, the club has always been close to my heart and is going from strength to strength with over 35 teams across the DDSL, LSL and EWFL. My vision is for the club remain a focal point of the local community and a place where boys and girls create memories, like the ones I remember when I played for Broadford as a child. On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank Darren for his time as Chairman, a role that he served extremely well.
